Dr. Richard Lord, a prominent Cedar Rapids citizen, resided here from 1904 until 1908. Dr. Lord owned land in several states and was associated with the LeFebure Ledger Company. Grant Wood helped Dr. Lord with his animals. Horses and cows were common in the city in those years.
